SUSTAINABLE PLANTATIONS -
CATTLE INTEGRATION
...........................................................................................
Cattle Integration is a valuable opportunity for sustainable plantation management that until today Sarawak has never accomplished. Within the plantation ecosystem it speeds up nutrient recycling and as a weed control system it significantly reduces herbicide usage and associated costs. Fundamentally cattle do not get balanced diet to increase productivity from merely converting grass and weeds into a saleable product (meat).
An important component of the cattle integration plan is a feedlot system. Ultimatlely it is to "finish" the sale cattle, and provide a centralised cattle handling and management facility.
Bee Forty One Agrotech Sdn Bhd specialises in cattle nutrition, feeding systems and feedlot operation.. We have pioneered in Sarawak a simple and robust feeding system, which maximises the use of oil palm resources, while achieving efficient conversion of feed inputs to meat and profits. A successful and effective feedlot enables better management of the grazing cattle herd.

Weaned calves can be separated earlier and either quickly fattened for prime beef, or grown out in a different location as replacement breeders. Cull cows can also be fattened before being sold for meat. This earlier weaner separation, combined with controlled mating (using the feedlot as a holding yard for bulls), allows better reproductive rates and ultimately more beef sold per hectare.
We can begin to design for you with the development of a small feedlot and handling yard, from where you will be able to manage cattle in one or more grazing herds over the plantation. If you already have grazing cattle but no feedlot, we can develop your feedlot to clear the "bottleneck" between the field and the end market. If indeed, you already have the feedlot, ask yourself one simple question:
what is the feed conversion efficiency ?
Deriving from average daily feed intake to average daily weight gain, how much feed do the cattle consume to achieve one kilogram of weight gain ?
We can improve this key economic indicator to make your feeding enterprise more profitable.
